Our 2021 Remembrance Day reflection is provided by Fr. Jacques Vaillancourt. Fr. Jacques, or “Padre,” as he was known during his 20 years as a military chaplain, lives in Camrose with his wife Bobbi. Following his service to the military, he was called to be the rector (priest/pastor) at St. Andrew’s Anglican Church in Camrose until his retirement in December 2020. Their daughter Jacqueline graduated from ECCHS in Camrose, and is now an ER nurse in Calgary. For the past year Fr. Jacques has provided spiritual care to the patients and staff as the chaplain at Killam Health Center in Killam, Alberta. He kindly agreed to share his Remembrance Day reflection on invitation from colleague and friend, Rosehaven Chaplain Brian Krushel.
