Our Team

We have an outstanding team of educators that enrich our education department. The education team consists of Registered Nurses, Registered Psychiatric Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Recreation Therapists, and Social Workers. We all work together to deliver the best and most current education available.

Janelle Wallace, LPN, B Ed

Manager, Education Services

Janelle Wallace has both her LPN and Bachelor of Education degree. As an LPN and College Instructor, she has worked in geriatric, psychiatric, OT and PT settings in both acute and continuing care facilities. Her professional training has enabled her to build innovative curriculum programs for both The Bethany Group and NorQuest College. Her passion for teaching has facilitated strong foundational skills for students entering the field of nursing. Her visionary leadership allows her to play a pivotal role on the educational team. “When you’re teaching in healthcare it’s evolving all the time,” explains Janelle. “I write a lot of educational content and sit on a number of committees, which helps me stay on top of best practices in healthcare and nursing. It’s challenging, but I love it. I love learning and in this job I’m learning every day.” Janelle is a geeky girl who enjoys movies, reading, listening to good music, kayaking, hiking, biking, and geocaching.

Dena Erickson-Bibo, RN

Part-time Educator

 As an RN, Dena has had the opportunity to work in various healthcare settings such as Home Care, Continuing Care and family clinics. Dena is our in-house CPR instructor and our “Super” Superuser in Meditech. She has extensive experience as a Hill Rom trainer, HCA program instructor, and as a clinical educator. Her new role will include OH&S training and dementia education. “My passion is in providing quality Long Term Care with a person centered goal,” states Dena. When Dena is not riding on the back of her husband's Harley motorcycle, you will find her quilting, embroidering, and loving her grandkids!

Elaine Laine

Part-time Educator

Nurse Practitioner, Elaine Laine, joined the education team this fall. She has a background in specialized geriatrics with a special interest in responsive behaviours. Elaine in a graduate of the University of Toronto, 2012 and prior to that she worked as a Clinical Nurse Specialist and Geriatric Emergency Management Nurse; assessing and co-ordination of care of elderly clients admitted to the Emergency Department. She is a PIECES trained educator and has been travelling in the province delivering training. Elaine loves to travel, read Canadian authors (especially Joseph Boyden), walk her dogs Ruby and Nanook and she has a deep passion for the arts.

Jill Moores

Education Assistant

Jill is the friendly voice you hear at the other end of the phone when you call to register for an education session or book a session. Her skills include managing and tracking all Outreach and staff education. Jill facilitates new employee orientation and helps to organize the team of educators and presenters. Jill plays a pivotal role in a number of training sessions whether it is setting up media or assisting with teaching Virtual Dementia and Basic Computer training. Jill loves to read, walk, and go swimming.
